These men were nicknamed buffalo soldiers by Indian adversaries due to their hair style and battle strengths similar to the Great Plains Bison. Here they are crossing the Rio Grande River at the end of another patrol with the Texas Chisos Mountains of the Big Bend Region in the distance.

Depicted here is a sunset rice patty field in the central highlands of Vietnam. The historical limitation to the MEDEVAC was that few pilots could fly at night into these landing zones due to period technology and training.
