The Liberty flag, aka the Moultrie flag, was commissioned in 1775 by COL Moultrie in preparation for our Revolutionary War for Independence.
During the defense of Sullivan Island, this flag solidified patriotism of the South Carolinian militia all the way through the liberation of Charleston in 1782.
